Annex 74 aims to set up an authorized international platform for the evolution and linking of existing competitions and living labs as well as discussing new concepts. The concepts may encompass the building as well as the district level including sustainable mobility. The main target group are participants from the field of the academic education of architects and engineers, linked to the building industry. The international platform is unique as to date, no comparable networks exist, which has resulted in limited evolution, innovation, dissemination and impact. The major advantage of working within the IEA EBC framework is its international character, bringing together building scientists from all over the world. This allows an integrated view on possible competition formats in different fields and in differing parts of the world to allow tailored experiences with different event profiles. Thus, Annex 74 intensifies the dissemination ambitions of the IEA in the field of sustainable buildings.
